Palmaria, designed for Cassina in 1995, is a family of upholstered chairs ideally recalling the concept of the Sindbad sofa that entered into production in 1981.

The family consists of an armchair, a lounge chair with a high backrest, a dining table chair, a pouf and two-seater sofas (in two different dimensions). The distinctive feature of the whole family lies in its simplicity and in the clear separation between the structural elements and the cover, a concept that makes the presence of traditional upholstery obsolete. Every seating element has a load-bearing steel tube structure and the backrest in flexible plastic material covered with a single cushion (for the seat, backrest and armrests) padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The cushions may be fitted with a fully removable leather or fabric cover. The pouf comes in two models: fixed or with a metal frame and metal swivel base, with adjustable height through a gas spring, and painted steel frame.
