"Sofas and armchairs are household complements - they're almost invisible - and should recall the formal spontaneity connected to the memory of that imperceptible simplicity that often goes with the most beloved objects, the everyday companions of a lifetime: the horse blanket of the Sindbad, the padded cover of the Veranda and Veranda 3. In the new sofa, they turn into a dress to wear and change. And Cardigan - the name I gave it - is that of commander James Thomas Brudenell, seventh Earl of Cardigan, who inspired and created fashions and models. Today, we associate it with a comfortable and casual garment to be worn in the family." Vico Magistretti, 1986

This sofa and armchair, like its predecessor Fiandra, are designed in close connection with the idea of comfort and as the result of the combination of modular elements. Cardigan epitomises the idea of comfort, spontaneity and versatility thanks to the fabric or leather cover which, padded with polyester wadding, is fitted with zippers that make it completely removable.

Mounted on a steel frame resting on a black lacquered base, the seat is padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding and can be assembled in a linear or corner composition.
