Kobe, starting with its NAME, alludes to the sombre elegance of the Japanese culture. The clear-cut horizontal surface appears suspended on the supports which, from being simple vertical signs on one side, form the headboard on the other side: similar to a small tilted ladder against which to rest the pillow. Then, from the tilted position, it goes back to being vertical through an easy-to-use system: doing without bulky mechanisms, a simple steel ring makes the headboard rotate backwards by 360°. The bed base consists of a multi ply blockboard panel with ad hoc cuts to give it the necessary spring.
