The Tadao Maratona bed for Flou is the spinoff of the 1993 Tadao model which had a headboard system, obtained by lengthening the backrest boards on both sides and the first two slats of the mattress base. Made of cherry veneered poplar plywood, the slats are interconnected by night blue grosgrain ribbons; the mattress is mounted on a night blue painted steel support. The feet are in solid American cherrywood. In 1998, a new version of the Tadao Maratona bed was launched with the headboard consisting of two slats (which are an integral part of the structure) and two curved poplar backrests upholstered in PRF and covered in removable fabric.
