Timo
This project represents the first consultancy collaboration between the designer and Schiffini that, thanks to this particular model of kitchen, will contribute to mark the company's transition from an artisanal to an industrial business. Timo was initially presented in 1968 at the 8th Salone del Mobile, at the Salone of 1969 and again up to the Eurodomus of 1970 with the NAME of Lady S, and was subsequently advertised under its current NAME. At the end of the ?60s, laminate was the most used material in the sector but the designer instead chose to use an ash wood coating, bleached and protected with moisture- resistant and grease-proof paints in a neutral finishing enlivened by the soft coloured plastic borders that serve as strike and lock jambs so that "all the cabinets - in white bleached wood with show-through grain - have the shutters bordered with a soft and coloured (red, blue, green, apple green) plastic edge-handle, of easy adherence," (Domus 468 / 1968) while graphically emphasising the modularity of the overall design. Characteristic of the series is also the presence of doubly high and deep wall units fitted with full-sized cabinet doors to better exploit the space.
