This series of tables with round or rectangular tops and a chair made with round-section wooden elements designed by Vico Magistretti in 1980, are part of a programme of Rosenthal furniture signed by famous artists and designers and distributed in Italy by Artemide.

The places that host the Pan sculpture-furniture appear to be "living even without people"; this was Magistretti's idea in designing the set that had to be attractive to look at even when it was not used and meet comfort requirements. As in other furniture design projects (such as the Broomstick series for Alias), Magistretti's formal research focuses on the idea of geometric reduction.
