Silica
The Silica lamp designed by Vico Magistretti in 1994 for FontanaArte introduces food for thought that had already been pondered by Magistretti: over a folded sheet that acts as a diffuser (as was also partially the case in the Claritas lamp) and over the scalability of the stream of light that is well represented by the Eclisse lamp. The design of the lamp focused on the shape of the antiglare blue- or aluminium-painted metal diffuser which, through its transformation, makes it possible to direct the stream of light emitted by Silica, both in the table and bedside table version. The lamp features a borosilicate glass body and a quartz sand counterweight.
