"Nothing is as wonderful as the gesture of somebody throwing a large piece of cloth or leather on a sofa or an armchair, just to see what it looks like?" Vico Magistretti.
The "unupholstered sofa" designed by Magistretti in 1981 for Cassina is as "natural as a gesture" and arises from the observation of a horse blanket, in the combination of colours typical of English studs, thrown on and fixed to the padded structure of the sofa with two buttons. The drop cloth is in wool with a contrasting herringbone cotton border while the structure, supported by a black lacquered beech base, is in polyurethane foamed steel covered with polyester wadding.
The Sindbad series - lounge chair, sofa and pouf - features a "drop cloth to try on and change", in its different versions in leather and piqué in addition to the linen, cotton and wool versions, is a simple and innovative object, versatile for indoor use because it can be stripped and adjusted not only to aesthetic but also to thermal needs.
The Sindbad series is completed with the ash coffee table, painted as oak, ebony or natural walnut, whose crescent-shaped top favours combining two tables.
