Featuring a simple design, the sofa has a cold-foamed polyurethane steel frame covered with a double layer of polyester wadding and stands out for its high backrest with adjustable headrest and wing-shaped armrests. Upholstered in wool cloth, leather or cotton, only the cushions have removable covers.

As it often happened in English country homes in the Victorian period, where the fireplace accommodated a small space in which to sit in the warmth of the fire, Magistretti designed a semi-private space to harbour the intimacy of those sitting there, as the architect himself wrote: "Here, the sofa is a little room within the room, ready to welcome its user."
