Calibur
The Calibur table that Magistretti designed for Cassina in 1993, mounts a round or oval wooden contoured top in a wide range of colours, over a base formed by soldered steel tubes painted in dark grey. Although the typology is that of its predecessor, the Edison table of 1985, the two are different because of the project methodology applied, based on the redesign (in Edison) that is entirely absent in the Calibur table. The formal result that makes the two objects similar issues from the search of a rationality typical of the designer and of the use of the same technology.
