The handle arises from the idea of designing an object that was ergonomic but at the same time sleek and whose shape recalled that of a bone. The dynamicity aimed for is achieved by cutting the two ends at an asymmetrically angled inclination. Remembering the moment the design was sketched, Antonio Olivari wrote: "'Try to make a sample by following these sketches', Magistretti told me. ?Let's see if you succeed in expressing my idea'. At the third prototype, he said he was satisfied and this is how Sibilla was born. This was Vico's working method: he sought an immediate exchange with the technicians in order to have his intuitions realised at best."
