Paddock
"It is a new way of reducing the elements of a seat to the essential." Vico Magistretti
This original three-seater sofa with an uncommon design is characterised by the seat that draws inspiration from the automotive industry or from the shape of a bicycle seat and is composed of an exposed metal tube, a connecting joint, strong springs and separate seats padded in polyurethane foam.
Thanks to its strong and autonomous identity and the fabric or leather upholstery, Paddock can serve several functions and be incorporated in various types of interiors, from residential to office or public spaces.
As affirmed by Vanni Pasca (Ottagono 101 / 1991), it is the continuity of an approach to design that, although complying with a rationalist language, softens its rigour, thus characterising Magistretti's work as it emblematically emerges from projects such as Paddock, a synthesis of remembrance, technique and modernity.
