Safran
Safran is a seating system that can be entirely disassembled and which can be configured into two- or three-seater or corner sofas. Designed to respond to a market that requested products easy to manage, store and ship, this design is an exercise in advanced technology resulting in a simple elegant shape in which technical structural solutions "build" the object and determine its character. The system is made up of a metal base with load-bearing brackets on which the back and armrests are inserted and which support modular semi-processed frames with elastic webbing. A polyurethane foam mattress pad is placed on this frame, making the seating uniformly comfortable, and is topped by medium-filled down seat cushions. The backrest and armrest cushions are self-supporting and are inserted on the brackets of the metal frame, whose flexibility makes the seating all the more comfortable. Every upholstered element is removable; the mattress can be lined with a different covering from that of the cushions, thus assuming a decorative function along with the colour of the metal structure. In 2004, the Safran sofa was proposed with a new softer upholstery on the seat and backrest and with a new version of armrest, that was added on to the classical version without armrest. The metal structure is black or silver.
