Marocca is the NAME by which we recognise the chair present in all of the Veneto and Friuli Regions' trattorias and taverns and that Magistretti recovers, redesigning it completely: in the dimensions, materials, typology (he added an armchair version) and colours. "As it happens with vegetable soup, it is like finding again a model that reminds us of the same, magnificent, thing we saw in a grappa tavern on the bridge of Bassano," Magistretti said. Both the chair and the armchair have a structure in aniline-dyed beech and the seat in moulded beech, again aniline-dyed. «The careful elegance of proportions and volumes softens and updates the original features. In the past, for example in the Carimate series, attention for the anonymous objects of the past also acted to correct the excessive formal abstraction present in certain rationalist pursuits; now the search for authenticity runs counter to the gratuitous multiplication of formal inventions, typical of "postmodern" design». (Pasca, 1999, p. 153)
