Stadio

Stadio, which was designed in 1966 but entered into production in 1970, is an assemblable table that, just as other tables of the series produced by Artemide in resin during these years, shows a new aesthetic that is strictly connected to the production technology. Originally produced in white, black, red and orange, with the subsequent addition of green and dark brown, this table is proposed in 4 models, depending on the size of the table top (Stadio 80, Stadio 100, Stadio 120, Stadio 150).

Stadio is composed of 5 assemblable elements (obtained thanks to two moulds): a reinforced resin seamless surface on which are inserted the moulded legs in a sinuous configuration that gives rigidity to the structure. Usable both indoors and outdoors, Stadio is one of the series of objects that Magistretti designed by exploiting the "resistance of shape", a way of giving rigidity to plastic materials through the geometric configuration with which they are moulded, and a design concept already experimented in other projects, from the Selene chair to the Chimera lamp and to the Elena table (ABS). The Stadio table was awarded the Gold Medal at the Wiener Mobelsalons International in 1970. The Stadio model is present in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York.
