The building has two floors above ground and a basement; it was created by repeatedly combining a base module in which groups of three classrooms are arranged around three halls used as venues for interclass activities. Suspended walkways connect the latter to the toilet facilities and landings on the upper floor where there are another two classrooms in each module. The classrooms are flooded with natural light filtering through the continuous windows on the south façade where the aluminium frames create a seamless square mesh grid. The buildings has external walls made of solid exposed bricks and a flat roof which, however, is unusable.

The school was designed as an elementary school complex by an unusual duo - Vico Magistretti and Gae Auelnti. It is currently the main Primary School complex for the southern district of the Meda Municipality.
